How Borrow It works
- 1. Sign up free — you get 10 Thunder Totems on the house.
- 2. Verify your account with a credit card or government ID. You must be verified before you can request or accept a borrow.Go to Account · Verify
- 3. Post an item or browse the counter. Posting costs 1.
- 4. Request to borrow — the owner reviews and accepts. Accepting costs the borrower 1.
- 5. Meet up, pay via e-transfer, and enjoy the gear.
- 6. Return it happy. Both sides mark the loan complete.
You're both protected
Every loan on Borrow It is backed by Terms & Conditions that each side agrees to before anything changes hands:
- Owners agree — at the moment they list — that the item is safe, working, and that any known defects have been disclosed in writing.
- Borrowers agree — at checkout — to return the item in the exact same condition and to report any damage immediately.
- Both sides walk away with a written, timestamped agreement they can take to Small Claims Court if something ever goes sideways.
Borrow It's job is to introduce neighbours and lock in that agreement — the loan itself stays between the two of you.
